Senior Trade and Customs Specialist, IOE&IT
Senior Trade and Customs Specialist at The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) with 14 years’ experience in international trade and customs.
A multiple graduate of the IOE&IT and accredited customs professional, Anna is a subject expert in areas of trade compliance and customs facilitations, with experience dealing with commercial organisations of various sizes and government departments.
Anna has supported businesses through all aspects of cross-border movements and applications for special procedures. She provided advice and solutions on classification and valuation of goods, interpretation of customs legislation and rules surrounding determination of the country of origin of goods.
In her most recent role before joining the IOE&IT, she spent two-and-a-half years with a major UK manufacturer and retailer with an international presence across the European Union and the US and a global supply chain.
A sole point of contact in all customs matters, she developed, implemented and delivered a customs compliance framework, policy, processes and solutions advising the company on its commercial strategy and operations following the EU Exit.
Anna was recently elected as the Industry Chair of the HMRC Joint Customs Consultative Committee and represents IOE&IT at various national and international forums and conferences.
Academy Trade & Customs Specialist (Special Projects)
Hamish is a Trade and Customs Specialist with the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) and is an active member of the IOE&IT Export Control Professional group, currently working within the Academy, heading up special projects.
He has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defence sector, initially as a systems engineer and product manager and then for the last 15 years in export controls and global trade compliance.
Hamish has qualifications in business compliance (ICA), World customs legislation and regulation (IOE&IT) and Global Trade compliance. (UL).
His experience includes designing and implementing trade compliance programs, implementing and advising on AEO and C-TPAT, internal audit, UK and US export control legislation, plus several years of experience as a consultant, trainer and presenter within the customs and trade compliance sector.
Hamish's most recent roles prior to joining the IOE&IT were head of global trade compliance for an international software provider, and a Trade Compliance Manager and Anti-bribery Due Diligence Lead for an international subsidiary of a major American technology company, defence contractor, and information technology services provider.
